Former stonemason Kyle Goodwin was given 5-8 years to live after being diagnosed with silicosis in 2018, which means he could die this year.
Kyle worked cutting these benches for 10 years, and contracted the disease despite wearing the appropriate protective equipment.
Instead of planning a family, Kyle is planning his funeral. But he doesn’t want his death to be in vain, so he is spending his final couple of years trying to stop others from being in the same position.
Along with the CFMEU, Kyle is calling upon the government to ban the manufacture and importation of engineered stone.
